Illinois School Permitting ‘After School Satan Club’

An Illinois college district is responding to outrage about an “After School Satan Club” flyer circulating for a gathering, saying it is going to not “discriminate towards any teams.”

The group, sponsored by the Satanic Temple, was set to fulfill at Jane Addams Elementary in Moline, and the flyer marketed for first by means of fifth graders, Illinois’ KWQC-6 reported Thursday.

The flyer says the membership’s actions ”will embody science tasks, puzzles, video games, arts and crafts tasks, and nature actions.” One father or mother of a scholar included a picture of the flyer in a Facebook put up, which prompted a lot of incredulous responses, Fox2Now reported,

“The Moline-Coal Valley School District understands that there’s concern and confusion over an upcoming after-school membership at Jane Addams elementary,” the college wrote in an announcement to KWQC.

“The Moline-Coal Valley School District and Board of Education have insurance policies and administrative procedures in place which permit for neighborhood use of its publicly funded amenities outdoors the college day.

“The district doesn’t discriminate towards any teams who want to hire our amenities, together with religious-affiliated teams. Religiously affiliated teams are amongst these allowed to hire our amenities for a payment.

“The district has, prior to now, accepted these kind of teams, one instance being the Good News Club, which is an after-school baby evangelism fellowship group. Flyers and promotional supplies for these kind of teams are accepted for foyer posting or show solely, and never for mass distribution.

“Students or dad and mom are then in a position to choose up the flyer from the foyer, in the event that they so select, which is aligned to District coverage. Please word that the district should present equal entry to all teams and that college students want parental permission to attend any after-school occasion. Our focus stays on scholar security and scholar achievement.”

The district is in northwestern Illinois close to the Iowa state line.
